Skills & Qualifications
A Florida Speech Language Pathologist or Speech Language Pathology Assistant license is required.
SLPs and SLPAs must have pediatric experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Many of our families are Spanish speaking. Conversational Spanish is preferred.
An inquisitive mind is preferred. As SLPs and SLPAs, we need professional curiosity to continue to grow and learn.
Compassion and empathy for individuals with different ability levels.
Responsibilities
All staff is required to follow the ASHA code of ethics.
The Speech language pathologist will:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the client’s speech , language, and/or swallowing abilities.
Develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide direct therapy services to individuals with communication disorders, fluency disorders, and feeding/swallowing disorders.
Collaborate and communication with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care and maximize the client’s progress.
Document client progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with team members.
The Speech language pathologist assistant will:
Collaborate with the Speech language pathologist to implement therapy plans and interventions.
Provide direct therapy services following the SLP’s plan of care.
Document client progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
Make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families.
